“Is this job legit?”
That’s usually the first thing people ask themselves when searching for jobs online and especially so when it comes to virtual assistant postings. And certainly, it’s only right to feel cautious about these things. Scammers are unfortunately still a dime a dozen on the Internet, so it definitely pays to play it safe.
To help you get started with your online job search, we’ve once again put our heads together to come up with a list of reliable sites for VA job postings. That said, please do still practice due diligence – if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
UPWORK
While you do get charged a service fee if you use this site to look for VA job postings, one major benefit you get in return is what the site calls its Upwork Payment Protection. Long story short, you won’t have to worry about an employer “running out” on you as soon as you complete a job.
20 FOUR 7 VA
This website currently accept VA applications from Eastern Europe, Jamaica, South Africa, India, and Southeast Asia (PH included, naturally). Job listings are categorized into three tiers, with Tier 3 offering the highest rates but at the same time requiring specialized skills (i.e. graphic design, press release syndication, e-commerce site setup).

VIRTUAL STAFF FINDER
If you feel more comfortable applying to a website managed by fellow Filipinos, then Virtual Staff Finder is what you’re looking for. To apply, simply send them a resume with your most recent work samples, and one of their Filipino staff members will be contacting you shortly for an interview.
REMOTO TASKS
Similar to the other sites listed here, one portion of the client’s fee goes to Remoto Tasks while another portion goes to the virtual assistant assigned to the job, aka you. As such, it’s in the site’s interest to make sure both of you get paid correctly and on time.
My Out Desk
Whereas other VA job sites offer to match virtual assistants with companies from different industries, My Out Desk is different in the sense that it works mainly with real estate firms and professionals based in the United States. As such, any interest or knowledge in real estate would definitely come in handy!
Freelancer PH
To start looking for jobs in this site, you can sign up just by logging in to your Facebook account. After that, you’ll need to complete your profile and from there Freelancer PH will provide you with a list of job postings that best match your skillsets.
SCRIBIE
Technically, Scribie is for transcribers but we thought we’d include it here anyway since VAs are occasionally asked to transcribe audio and/or video files for their employers as well. This website pays $5 to $25 per audio hour, and you get to pick which type of file you wish to work on.
PEOPLE PER HOUR
Lastly, we have People Per Hour, which right off the bats warns prospective applicants that their site is not for everyone. They’re quite specific with the type of VA they’re looking for – someone who hates sugarcoating, doesn’t sit around waiting to be told what to do, thinks outside the box, etc. It’s a tall order, but if you have what it takes…
Hope this list helps, and in case you’re new to the whole virtual assistance thing, we’ve got you covered – just click here to read up on what VAs are normally tasked to do. Other than that, happy job hunting!
